Bio
DogPaw is a Provo indie folk and indie alt-rock band — Velour Winter 2025 Battle of the Bands winners who sold out Kilby Court in 2026, featured in Provo Music Magazine, BYU Daily Universe, City Weekly, and on KRCL 90.9 FM.
DogPaw is an indie band from Provo, Utah, formed in 2024 by friends who met on their missions in Fort Collins, Colorado. Garrett Bailey (vocals, bass), Neil Dalton (rhythm guitar, vocals), Jaden Haney (lead guitar), and Ethan Nielsen (drums) create atmospheric, story-driven songs built around real instruments, raw emotion, and cinematic build-ups.
DogPaw played its first show after only two practices, in the basement sports court at drummer Ethan Nielsen’s uncle’s home in Herriman, Utah, in front of about 60 people and Pepper, a miniature schnauzer. From there the band cut their teeth on garage shows before spending months writing original music. They have performed at Velour Live Music Gallery, Kilby Court, and venues across the Wasatch Front. Fans often bark along at shows — a tradition that started with mission friends and became part of the DogPaw concert experience.
DogPaw won Velour’s Winter 2025 Battle of the Bands (night four and finals) and placed second at BYU’s Battle of the Bands. In 2026 they played a live in-studio session on KRCL 90.9 FM for Utah Music Month, headlined and sold out Kilby Court in August, and opened for Cardinal Bloom at The Depot in Salt Lake City in September, the hometown kickoff of Cardinal Bloom’s tour.
Singles “Willow” and “airplane” have drawn praise from Provo Music Magazine, which interviewed the band in September 2026. BYU Daily Universe profiled them in March 2026, and City Weekly has made them a live music pick.

Opening for Cardinal Bloom at The Depot
I have never heard dogpaw sound so good. The crowd was 200+ people strong, and everything hit amazingly, right on point. Their performance was the best yet, and the crowd’s dogpaw bark calls, screams, cheers, and bouncing were a testament to how good their show was.
